The Royal Society of the Arts in London

The Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce (founded in 1754) moved in 1774 to this building near the Strand, linked to the Adelphi development by the Adam brothers.

It first met in Fleet Street, then in the Strand. Smollett mentions their meetings in Humphry Clinker (1771).
